CONGRATULATION!!! (did i spell corretly?)

yup... 2 of my high school friend was married yesterday... such busy day.. =.='' ok for those of you who cannot attend the wedding, here's what happened yesterday...

1. before the wedding day (on friday), all the guys gathered at steven's house to eat and plan tomorrow's trip (...for the XXtimes... since steven, who claimed NOT nervous, keep double and triple confirm everything...) nothing big really happened, except that most of those we never thought will see again has appeared... that include Chee Hong (remember him?)... i was so suprise to see him, and more suprising that i still remember his name??!! never thought i still remember that guy's name after so many years... so after all the chit chat and such, we went back home, and prepare for the big day...

2. at 6:30, i have to drag myself from the bed after "snoozed" the alarm clock for more than 10 times, and drove my father's car (CLK) to Steven's house... actually we'll leave at 8:15, but incase anything unexpected happened, we gave ourself 1 and half hours more... =.=''

anyway, after all the people gathered in steven's hosue (some of us had breakfast at his house), we left at 8:30 to lay sye's house.. :) i for got who driving what cars, but we attracted alot of attention from the street... cannot blame them loh... when they saw a whole row of cars that ranged form minimum 100k to 300k, and mostly new cars, sure look lah... :D

anyway, a small accident happened on the way to lay sye's house... i realised that most other malaysians with other religion/culture (*coughmalayscough*), all also purposely cut in between our line... one of them even emergency break infront of hing chun's new BMW 5 series... luckilly for him, his car damn new, so the break damn geng, successfully stoped the car, and merely kiss that bloody van's smelly butt... =.='' but unlucky for him, kim ann who following his car, doesn't has that kind of advantage, and *BANG!!... =.=''

we all stoped somewhere outside lay sye's house and inspected the cars (no... that van driver never stop... =.='' if i were hing chun, i'll ram that van so that bloody driver cannot run away... then i'll call all the brothers use all our >100k cars to surround that van, paksa him pay us money...) no serious damage, but kim ann's car's bayonet senget liao, and hing chun's bumper sensor damaged...

3. we'll just skip those unhappy part and let's go straight to the fun part... when we got near of lay sye's house, we started to press our horn like no tommorow, drawing all the attention form the neighbourhood, and park right in the middle of the street... damn cool leh... :D now for those sisters who are suppose to stop us at the gate, this is suppose to be the fun part, where they'll try thier best to touture the guys, AND getting money from all the SM and punishment (so unfair... =.='') well lucky for us, we don't have much time to play.. :D

after we reached the gate, the first thing the girl want is... MONEY!!!! well, it's nothing new so steven gave those bloodsucking girl 1 angpao... which contain RM1... =.=''' no comment there... the girls made a fuss out of this, and demand more MONEY!!!!! steven who came prepared, gave them another angpao... wich contain RM5... =.='' before the girls can complain, the "Dai Kam Je" interupted and ask the girl to open the door, since there isn't anymore time to play games... unwillingly, they opened the gate,... steven who saw them so cooperate, decided to gave them the last angpao, which contained.... RM i-dunno... =.='' never ask him how much the 3rd angpao got... after the girls got the angpao, they stoped us from advancing, and asked for steven's hand phone... walau new idea??? from them?? i must say that i'm impress... never see that coming... never the less we gave them the phone, and see what kind of trick they are trying to pull... after wait for 1 minuit, they gave us the phone back, along with some paper... which contain the song lyrics of "明天你要嫁給我".. =.='' awkwardly, steven (who dunno this song) sang along with the hi-fi into the phone, which they dialled into lay sye's room... :) after satisfied with the song, they finally let us into the living room...

after got in there, steven prayed to the gods and ancesters, and wanted to go up and get lay sye... as always, the girls are blocking the stairway with their *ahem huge body, and asked us to do 30 pumping (bumping? dunno how to spell..)... after some discussion within the guys, me and fang shyuan "volunteered" to do 15 times each (damn non of them want to do it.. =.='' and i'm the weakest guy in the group...) anyway, we finally got the permission to go up the stairs, and some small resistence from the sisters in the room, steven finally got to meet lay sye... too bad i cannot upload the photo... lay sye look so damn incredible leh... no wonder people keep saying girls who falling in love is the most beutiful one.. :) well i guess pei shan or bee yam will upload the photo sooner or later, so be patient.. :)

4. after picking lay sye from the house, we went to lay sye's other house to meet her relative, so steven can meet them all, collect angpaos and serve them tea... as steven's best man, i was suppose to stand behind him and help steven keep the angpao, but he never give them to me, so during that 1 hour of tea serving, angpao collecting provess, i have to stand there, do nothing.. =.='' well, nothing really special happened there, and we went straight to church after that..

5. after we arrived at the church, signed in the guess book, and the wedding has officially begun... i can't describe the process so well but look at the point below, some imagination and scene from hollywood movies and you'll can't go wrong...

-the wedding theme "blast" from the piano...

-the young Frodo walk into the church slooooowly (the ring bearer... he's the kind who suppose to bring in the ring, and wan yan, i'm sure you'll scream "SO CUTE!!!!!" and squeeze his cheek when you saw him... =.='')

-two flower girls followed him, which also followed by...

-the bride, lay sye, in her gown, accompany by her father, walking into the church, up the aisle, in way much slower pace than frodo, so that everyone, with anything that can capture this moment (handphones, cameras, dv cams, sketch books, canvas... )

-after a very long walk (in a not very big church), lay sye arrived beside steven, and we all facing the pastor... for whole 10 minutes, that pastor keep talking and talking, the same old stuff from hollywood movies (which has reduced ALOT of lines), and before i got a food cramp from excessive standing, the pastor finally finished his speach, and i took the rings from little frodo (who REALLY tired of holding those rings) pass to pastor, who gave to steven and laysye, and said those words that all women dreamt about...

"Do you, Lee Cheng Kong, willing to marry Soo Lay Sye, as your blah blah blah blah, and blah blah blah blah blah?"

"I do".

"Do you, Soo Lay Sye, willing to marry Lee Cheng Kong, as your blah blah blah blah, and blah blah blah blah blah?"

"I do"

"by the power invest in me by God, i now pronounce you, man and wife. you may exchange the ring..."

p.s. with my span of attention and memory, i cannot remember most of the speach, and all the above except "i do", are mostly made up by me... =.=''

anyway, after exchanged the rings, steven lifted lay sye's veil, and kissed her on the cheek... huh? no passionate french wet kiss ah? =.='' at this moment, the whole church full with whistles, claps, woofing, and every noice that a human can make in a church... after the ceremony, we were asked to be sitted to hear the preaching from the pastor... i won't give more detail here because it's so boring, even the other pastors fall asleep behind the speech giving pastor.. =.='''

after endured the most boring part of the day, steven and lay sye walked down the aisle, with me and the bride's maid following them, followed by the flower girls and frodo... the brothers (that will take angpao from steven) did thier part of job, found some squirt gun that spray bubbles, pumped thier finger on the trigger frantically...

of course, after all this, we took lots and lots of pictures together, and went down to have our lunch... lots of chit chat and such, and at 2 pm, we have to go back to steven's house so that he can get more ang paos from his relatives and serve teas to them...

6. if you're almos falled asleep reading the blog, i'll assure you, i'm almost finish.. :) we went to steven's house, go in, serve teas, collect ang pao, take photo, and all the brothers and sisters went back to thier home.. :)

told you i'm gonna finish soon.. :D

7. this is the extra party after the wedding... a few hours after we went home (8pm), some of us gathered in steven's house to eat dinner... kinda like thank you party throwed for the brothers, although only 5 of us showed up.. =.='' anyway, that's all that i can report from steven and laysye's wedding, so go see other's blog if you want more info, and audrey, dai sei for missing out all the fun.. :D who asked you to go back australia so soon.. :DDD

at last, congratulation to Laysye and Steven!!! fast fast born whole nest of babies ah.. :D too bad we cannot get ang pao from them on CNY... according to those aunty and ah po, they don't have to give to those who are same age with them one.. =.=''

The universe greatest mystery: What is LOVE?

love, seems so simple, yet it's veery complicated... some people understand the game fairly easily, and yet some of them, like me, have no idea of what love is, even it smack me in the face and shove it's foot my my ass...

i can never understand love...

well, first thing first...

for me, in order to love someone, you have to understand that person first... if you don't understand the person you "want to love", how are you suppose to know that you're really love that person or just merely "attracted" to that person? it really puzzle me when so many couple broke up, just because that they are not meant for each other... but don't they know that person BEFORE they devote thier love to each other?

i just don't really know... how can two person, who don't know much about the other person, can have the idea of "let's get together to know each other better", and seperated after found out they are not meant for each other? why can't they be friend for a while, after confirm that person is what he's looking for, THEN have a serious realtionship together?

i guess i'm more conservative then i think i am... =.=''

that's not the only point in love that i don't understand... but since i just came back from karaoke, and now is 7am, i can't really think of anything except my pillow and bed... so i'll sleep first, and see if i can dig up anymore thing to write after i wake up... Zzzz

The lady or the tiger?

This is a short story that i found a few days ago... by Frank Stockton and article copied from:

http://www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/LadyTige.shtml

"In the very olden time there lived a semi-barbaric king, whose ideas, though somewhat polished and sharpened by the progressiveness of distant Latin neighbors, were still large, florid, and untrammeled, as became the half of him which was barbaric. He was a man of exuberant fancy, and, withal, of an authority so irresistible that, at his will, he turned his varied fancies into facts. He was greatly given to self-communing, and, when he and himself agreed upon anything, the thing was done. When every member of his domestic and political systems moved smoothly in its appointed course, his nature was bland and genial; but, whenever there was a little hitch, and some of his orbs got out of their orbits, he was blander and more genial still, for nothing pleased him so much as to make the crooked straight and crush down uneven places.
Among the borrowed notions by which his barbarism had become semified was that of the public arena, in which, by exhibitions of manly and beastly valor, the minds of his subjects were refined and cultured.
But even here the exuberant and barbaric fancy asserted itself. The arena of the king was built, not to give the people an opportunity of hearing the rhapsodies of dying gladiators, nor to enable them to view the inevitable conclusion of a conflict between religious opinions and hungry jaws, but for purposes far better adapted to widen and develop the mental energies of the people. This vast amphitheater, with its encircling galleries, its mysterious vaults, and its unseen passages, was an agent of poetic justice, in which crime was punished, or virtue rewarded, by the decrees of an impartial and incorruptible chance.
When a subject was accused of a crime of sufficient importance to interest the king, public notice was given that on an appointed day the fate of the accused person would be decided in the king's arena, a structure which well deserved its name, for, although its form and plan were borrowed from afar, its purpose emanated solely from the brain of this man, who, every barleycorn a king, knew no tradition to which he owed more allegiance than pleased his fancy, and who ingrafted on every adopted form of human thought and action the rich growth of his barbaric idealism.
When all the people had assembled in the galleries, and the king, surrounded by his court, sat high up on his throne of royal state on one side of the arena, he gave a signal, a door beneath him opened, and the accused subject stepped out into the amphitheater. Directly opposite him, on the other side of the enclosed space, were two doors, exactly alike and side by side. It was the duty and the privilege of the person on trial to walk directly to these doors and open one of them. He could open either door he pleased; he was subject to no guidance or influence but that of the aforementioned impartial and incorruptible chance. If he opened the one, there came out of it a hungry tiger, the fiercest and most cruel that could be procured, which immediately sprang upon him and tore him to pieces as a punishment for his guilt. The moment that the case of the criminal was thus decided, doleful iron bells were clanged, great wails went up from the hired mourners posted on the outer rim of the arena, and the vast audience, with bowed heads and downcast hearts, wended slowly their homeward way, mourning greatly that one so young and fair, or so old and respected, should have merited so dire a fate.

< 2 >
But, if the accused person opened the other door, there came forth from it a lady, the most suitable to his years and station that his majesty could select among his fair subjects, and to this lady he was immediately married, as a reward of his innocence. It mattered not that he might already possess a wife and family, or that his affections might be engaged upon an object of his own selection; the king allowed no such subordinate arrangements to interfere with his great scheme of retribution and reward. The exercises, as in the other instance, took place immediately, and in the arena. Another door opened beneath the king, and a priest, followed by a band of choristers, and dancing maidens blowing joyous airs on golden horns and treading an epithalamic measure, advanced to where the pair stood, side by side, and the wedding was promptly and cheerily solemnized. Then the gay brass bells rang forth their merry peals, the people shouted glad hurrahs, and the innocent man, preceded by children strewing flowers on his path, led his bride to his home.
This was the king's semi-barbaric method of administering justice. Its perfect fairness is obvious. The criminal could not know out of which door would come the lady; he opened either he pleased, without having the slightest idea whether, in the next instant, he was to be devoured or married. On some occasions the tiger came out of one door, and on some out of the other. The decisions of this tribunal were not only fair, they were positively determinate: the accused person was instantly punished if he found himself guilty, and, if innocent, he was rewarded on the spot, whether he liked it or not. There was no escape from the judgments of the king's arena.
The institution was a very popular one. When the people gathered together on one of the great trial days, they never knew whether they were to witness a bloody slaughter or a hilarious wedding. This element of uncertainty lent an interest to the occasion which it could not otherwise have attained. Thus, the masses were entertained and pleased, and the thinking part of the community could bring no charge of unfairness against this plan, for did not the accused person have the whole matter in his own hands?

< 3 >
This semi-barbaric king had a daughter as blooming as his most florid fancies, and with a soul as fervent and imperious as his own. As is usual in such cases, she was the apple of his eye, and was loved by him above all humanity. Among his courtiers was a young man of that fineness of blood and lowness of station common to the conventional heroes of romance who love royal maidens. This royal maiden was well satisfied with her lover, for he was handsome and brave to a degree unsurpassed in all this kingdom, and she loved him with an ardor that had enough of barbarism in it to make it exceedingly warm and strong. This love affair moved on happily for many months, until one day the king happened to discover its existence. He did not hesitate nor waver in regard to his duty in the premises. The youth was immediately cast into prison, and a day was appointed for his trial in the king's arena. This, of course, was an especially important occasion, and his majesty, as well as all the people, was greatly interested in the workings and development of this trial. Never before had such a case occurred; never before had a subject dared to love the daughter of the king. In after years such things became commonplace enough, but then they were in no slight degree novel and startling.
The tiger-cages of the kingdom were searched for the most savage and relentless beasts, from which the fiercest monster might be selected for the arena; and the ranks of maiden youth and beauty throughout the land were carefully surveyed by competent judges in order that the young man might have a fitting bride in case fate did not determine for him a different destiny. Of course, everybody knew that the deed with which the accused was charged had been done. He had loved the princess, and neither he, she, nor any one else, thought of denying the fact; but the king would not think of allowing any fact of this kind to interfere with the workings of the tribunal, in which he took such great delight and satisfaction. No matter how the affair turned out, the youth would be disposed of, and the king would take an aesthetic pleasure in watching the course of events, which would determine whether or not the young man had done wrong in allowing himself to love the princess.

< 4 >
The appointed day arrived. From far and near the people gathered, and thronged the great galleries of the arena, and crowds, unable to gain admittance, massed themselves against its outside walls. The king and his court were in their places, opposite the twin doors, those fateful portals, so terrible in their similarity.
All was ready. The signal was given. A door beneath the royal party opened, and the lover of the princess walked into the arena. Tall, beautiful, fair, his appearance was greeted with a low hum of admiration and anxiety. Half the audience had not known so grand a youth had lived among them. No wonder the princess loved him! What a terrible thing for him to be there!
As the youth advanced into the arena he turned, as the custom was, to bow to the king, but he did not think at all of that royal personage. His eyes were fixed upon the princess, who sat to the right of her father. Had it not been for the moiety of barbarism in her nature it is probable that lady would not have been there, but her intense and fervid soul would not allow her to be absent on an occasion in which she was so terribly interested. From the moment that the decree had gone forth that her lover should decide his fate in the king's arena, she had thought of nothing, night or day, but this great event and the various subjects connected with it. Possessed of more power, influence, and force of character than any one who had ever before been interested in such a case, she had done what no other person had done - she had possessed herself of the secret of the doors. She knew in which of the two rooms, that lay behind those doors, stood the cage of the tiger, with its open front, and in which waited the lady. Through these thick doors, heavily curtained with skins on the inside, it was impossible that any noise or suggestion should come from within to the person who should approach to raise the latch of one of them. But gold, and the power of a woman's will, had brought the secret to the princess.
And not only did she know in which room stood the lady ready to emerge, all blushing and radiant, should her door be opened, but she knew who the lady was. It was one of the fairest and loveliest of the damsels of the court who had been selected as the reward of the accused youth, should he be proved innocent of the crime of aspiring to one so far above him; and the princess hated her. Often had she seen, or imagined that she had seen, this fair creature throwing glances of admiration upon the person of her lover, and sometimes she thought these glances were perceived, and even returned. Now and then she had seen them talking together; it was but for a moment or two, but much can be said in a brief space; it may have been on most unimportant topics, but how could she know that? The girl was lovely, but she had dared to raise her eyes to the loved one of the princess; and, with all the intensity of the savage blood transmitted to her through long lines of wholly barbaric ancestors, she hated the woman who blushed and trembled behind that silent door.

< 5 > When her lover turned and looked at her, and his eye met hers as she sat there, paler and whiter than any one in the vast ocean of anxious faces about her, he saw, by that power of quick perception which is given to those whose souls are one, that she knew behind which door crouched the tiger, and behind which stood the lady. He had expected her to know it. He understood her nature, and his soul was assured that she would never rest until she had made plain to herself this thing, hidden to all other lookers-on, even to the king. The only hope for the youth in which there was any element of certainty was based upon the success of the princess in discovering this mystery; and the moment he looked upon her, he saw she had succeeded, as in his soul he knew she would succeed.
Then it was that his quick and anxious glance asked the question: "Which?" It was as plain to her as if he shouted it from where he stood. There was not an instant to be lost. The question was asked in a flash; it must be answered in another.
Her right arm lay on the cushioned parapet before her. She raised her hand, and made a slight, quick movement toward the right. No one but her lover saw her. Every eye but his was fixed on the man in the arena.
He turned, and with a firm and rapid step he walked across the empty space. Every heart stopped beating, every breath was held, every eye was fixed immovably upon that man. Without the slightest hesitation, he went to the door on the right, and opened it.
Now, the point of the story is this: Did the tiger come out of that door, or did the lady ?
The more we reflect upon this question, the harder it is to answer. It involves a study of the human heart which leads us through devious mazes of passion, out of which it is difficult to find our way. Think of it, fair reader, not as if the decision of the question depended upon yourself, but upon that hot-blooded, semi-barbaric princess, her soul at a white heat beneath the combined fires of despair and jealousy. She had lost him, but who should have him? "

finished? i didn't include the ending here... i like you to tell me what you think after you read this story.. :) too long and you skipped those? nevermind... find one day, read it, then tell me.. :) it's a great story...

anyway i myself don't really like the ending... i think by taken away the ending, it leaves more space for you to ponder the decision that the princess will make, the struggle, the conflict, the love, the hate and all sorts of emotion...

but if you really want to know the ending, just visit the site given above... scroll to the end of the page, and you'll see the ending... but believe me... it's more satisfying when you don't know the ending...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

yeay!!! 2007 is here!!! i should have post on 1st of january, but i'm kinda busy, and not to mention lazy...=.=''

anyway, how you guys celebrate the new year?

at first i dun really have any plan for that day, then hing chun called me on the afternoon, reminded me that i've promised chin to celebrate with him, since he got a hotel room in KL...

me and HC drove to KL that night (31th of December) at 9 pm, and what suprised us is that ther's no traffic in KL... this "good luck" really messed up our plan, since we though we'll arrive at the hotel at 10 or 11 o'clock... now we have 3 hours of spare time until the count down...=.='''

anyway, we met up with chin, and found out that us and fang shyuan is the only bestarian =.=''' damn i thought this is a huge bestari gathering or something...=.=''' what REALLY suprised me is that chin is with his family and they are joining us for the count down!! omg this is the first time i celebrate with friend's family... to tell you the truth i was kinda disappointed because we thought we're going to club or something...

after we met up, me and hc decided to eat our dinner first, then we went back to chin's hotel, hoping the night will turn better... we were told that chin's father is waiting for us in a bar opposite of loft, so we headed there, and ordered some beer...

at first we were kinda shy, nv look at chin's parents eyes, and we sit quite far apart... talk about awkwardness... then after a few class of heineken (well, in my case, 1 glass... ) then we started to get a bit high, and at least won't feel so awkward anymore.. we've chated and we laugh, mostly about my experience in clubs (the urine test and other quite embarassing stuff)...

after a few jugs of heineken, we stated to hear people in clubs counting down loudly...

"10! 9! 8!..."

unintentionally, we looked at our watch...

"11.55pm"

"huh? what the hell??"

"5! 4! 3!..."

"argg.. dun care lah!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!" *all shout and whistle together

after all the noise started to settle down, another club goes...

"10! 9! 8!..."

"huh? what the hell??? count down twice in 1 year ah???"
"aiya dun care lah!! count and shout only!!! 3! 2! 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!"

=.='''

anyway, after the excitement, we drank and drank again... unexpectedly, the bar waiters gave us a box of gift... after open the gift box, we found out that those are the whistles and blow horn and stuff... damn the bar owner... after count down baru give...=.=''' anyway, all also half drunked, we play with those gift loudly, and suprisingly, we didn;t get beat up by other people for making noises... instead, those ah-mo-mia beside our table join in our litle "parade"... :D best fun i had since last year, which was a few minutes ago.. :D

anyway, after the crowd started to go back, we also head back to the hotel room (chin's parent went home after the count down), and back into the warm hug of bacardi and vodka... at the end of the night, fang shyuan dunk until like dunno what, keep swearing for no reason... chin rush into the toilet right after we reach the hotel, and happily transfered lots of "fluid" into the toilet bowl... chin's brothers are also groggy after a few heineken, accidentally broke a glass (or two... =.='' can't concentrate with beers in my hand...=.='') anyway, we all slept at 4... or 5 am...

the rest are history... we woke up, ate breakfast, and went home... :)
