Movie: Bridge to Terabithia
During the exam, i've bought another book of DVDs, and the first one i saw was this movie... The reason that i chose this movie is because that my sister said its suck, and i like to save the best for last...
anyway, after i watched this movie, i then realised that me and my sister's taste in movie might not be similar afterall... in my opinion, Bridge of Terabithia is one of the most touching movie that i ever saw... and you can see that from the way i write this intro... can you say "proper grammer?" :D
Bridge to Terabithia is about the friendship between a boy, Jess, and his new neighbour, Leslie. Jess is a poor and shy farm boy, with great talent in drawing. Leslie is outgoing tomboy, and like to imagine (maybe one of the biggest reason why she has such great imagination is because she has no tv in her house... ). After became friend, Jess and Leslie has imagined a kingdom, Terabithia, in the woods behind their house. Every evening after school they'll play in the woods and lost in thier imagination.
One evening, after came back from a muzium trip, Jess found out that Leslie was drowned when trying to reach the woods. after going through the grief and denial, he decided to build a bridge to Terabithia, and share the gift and joy he has recieved from Leslis to the others.
damn i really curse myself for not having a rich vocabulary to describe this film better... =.='' in short, this is a very touching movie, and i actually cried when Leslie's death was announced... i'm not fond of her at first, seeing that she looks kinda old for her age... but her positive attitude and joyful character has made her character lovable...
all in all, some might say that this movie sucks, but i think those who don't know how to appreciate this movie clearly doesn't get the idea behind this amazing film... yeah sister.. that's mean you!! (not that she'll read my blog anyway.. :P)
P.S. i've read the novel in the office the next day, and guess what? i have to try so hard to control those stupid sweat coming out from my eyes... =.='' dunno how to explain if my parents saw my eyes red and watery... =.='' lesson learned: don't read story with sad ending in the office... on second thought, don't read ANY story in the office... =.='' should not do other stuff while working... =.=''
